OREANDA-NEWS. Enel OGK-5 - one of the leading power producers in Russia which main generating capacities are located in the Sverdlovsk region - took part in INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition in Ekaterinburg. In the framework of the event Enel OGK-5 a round table with participation of local authorities and international experts, signed agreements on cooperation with the city administrations of Sredneuralsk and Reftinskiy and presented a multimedia exhibition.

On the first day of the exhibition, July 9, Enel OGK-5 organized a round table "Innovation in the Russian thermoelectric industry: Enel experience". The round table, opened with a welcome speech of Enel OGK-5 General Director Enrico Viale and moderated by Chief Operating Officer of the company John Clark, was focused on innovation, research and development in the Russian power sector. The Minister of Energy and Utilities of the Sverdlovsk region Nikolai Smirnov, rector of the Urals Federal University Victor Koksharov, Head of Enel Research Sauro Pasini, Professor of Theory of Mechanisms and Machines, University of Sant'Anna (Pisa) Massimo Bergamasco and Director of Enel OGK-5's Reftinskaya GRES Oleg Kosmenyuk took part on the discussion.

After the round table Enel OGK-5 General Director Enrico Viale signed two cooperation agreements - with the Head of city administration of Sredneuralsk Boris Tarasov and the Head of city administration of Reftinskiy Sergey Pshenitsyn. The agreements are aimed at strengthening of the already existing long-term cooperation with municipalities of the two towns, where two Enel OGK-5 plants - Sredneuralskaya and Reftinskaya GRES - are located and the company carries out numerous charitable and social projects. The agreements envisage implementation joint projects in the field of environmental protection, energy efficiency and social sphere, including support of education, culture, health and sports.

In the framework of the exhibition Enel presented a booth with a multimedia performance presenting the company's R&D innovations implemented globally and in Russia, in particular, in in the Sverdlovsk region.

The exhibition included:

• An interactive touch 3D-model of the Dry Ash Removal System, implemented at Reftinskaya GRES;

• "Enelicopter" - a flying drone equipped with video and infrared camera and capable to make semiautomatic flights, also in confined spaces. The device is designed to help staff during inspection of production facilities or during operation and maintenance;

• Augmented Reality Assistant Ultralite" - an instrumented helmet equipped with headphones, microphone, camera and visualizer, which can be used for remote communication between employees during operation and maintenance works at the plant, contributing to improve H&S.
