OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' international reserves went up 19.2% month on month in June 2014 to U.S. USD 6.426 billion as of July 1, 2014 by the International Monetary Fund's Special Data Dissemination Standards, according to a preliminary report released by National Bank of Belarus (NBB).

The increase in Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves reflects the arrival of the USD 2 billion credit from Russia's Bank VTB and the placement of government securities on the home market, the NBB said in a statement.

In June 2014 the Government and the NBB fully settled the countries' external and internal liabilities.

As of January 1, 2014, Belarus' international reserves stood at U.S. USD 6.651 billion by the International Monetary Fund's Special Data Dissemination Standards.

In 2012 Belarus' international reserve assets grew 2.26% on the year to USD 8.095 billion, a year-on-year increase of USD 179 million.
