OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2014. Recently Mergermarket published its M&A league tables of legal advisers for the first half of 2014. In the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region league table according to the volume of announced transactions SORAINEN was placed second with twelve M&A transactions advised. 

Additionally SORAINEN was ranked 2nd in the Bloomberg H1 2014 M&A Legal Advisory Rankings for Eastern Europe. According to the Experian Corpfin Deals database League Tables H1 2014 SORAINEN achieves 1st place among legal advisers of M&A deals in Eastern Europe.

In the January-June 2014 period reviewed, SORAINEN advised among others:

PZU, the largest Polish life and non-life insurer on its acquisition of assets in Lithuania (Lietuvos Draudimas), Latvia (Balta) and Estonia (branch of Codan Forsikring) from RSA Insurance Group. Total transaction value of Baltic assets was approx EUR 270 million: the largest M&A transaction in the Baltics this year.

As pan-Baltic counsel for Pamplona Capital Partners III LP, a specialist investment manager with an assets portfolio of over EUR 4.4 billion, in acquiring a majority stake in the Alvogen Group, an international specialty pharmaceutical company. In cooperation with Allen & Overy, SORAINEN advised the client on Alvogen operations in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Latvian company Primekss and its founders in attracting an investment of EUR 10 million from Green Gateway Fund, a German private equity investor managed by Wermuth Asset Management.

Amber Grid on acquisition of 38.9% of its shares by EPSO-G from E.ON Ruhrgas International  for EUR 49.76 million.

Eesti Energia on sale of its network construction subsidiary Eesti Energia Vorguehitus to Leonhard Weiss for EUR 7 million.

The Mergermarket Europe-wide league table was topped by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer who in H1 2014 advised 96 M&A transactions with a total value of approx EUR 239 million.
