OREANDA-NEWS. The company is utilizing its own resources. This became possible due to a range of activities realized in Monomer plant. Particularly, after furnace (item F-04) of SRT-VI type was put into operation in workshop No. 55 in September 2013 and gas conditioning unit started up in workshop No. 46 in January 2014. Thus, the start-up of furnace (item F-04) allowed to process up to 95 tons of gasoline per hour, produced in the Refinery, and to reduce the EP-300 unit's demand for NGL by 30 tons per hour.

One of the activities designed to reduce NGL purchase was implemented through hydrocarbons collection from the Refinery and their supply to NGL train of the EP-300 unit. Hydrocarbons were previously used in the Refinery as a fuel, and their excessive amount was burnt into flares. Now they are provided to the EP-300 unit of Monomer plant as a crude material. As a result, hydrocarbons are refined into end and intermediate products, like ethylene and propylene, instead of their simple flaring.

This project is implemented in two directions: environmental and economic. The first one implies reduction of gases flared in the Company. The other one is aimed at the extension of the EP-300 unit's feedstock and reduction in the shortage of purchased NGL.

Implementation of the abovementioned project made it possible to reduce purchase of NGL by 10,000 tons per year. In future the Company intends to increase extraction and refining of NGL by improving the flow diagrams.

In total the Company has planned to process 185,000 tons of NGL in 2014.
