OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2014. JSC Aeroflot (Moscow Exchange Ticker: AFLT) has been named the Best Airline in Eastern Europe at Skytrax World Airline Awards 2014.

The prize was established by Skytrax, a British consulting firm renowned for its highly professional Airline Rating for product and service which is one of the most respected in the global air industry.

The Ceremony took place at the Farnborough International Airshow 2014.

Aeroflot became the Best Airline in Eastern Europe for the second year in a row and the third time in its history. The airline was previously awarded this title in 2011 and 2013 during Le Bourget air show.

More than 200 airlines annually contest for Skytrax World Airline Awards in different categories. More than 18 million travelers from 160 countries take part in the on-line survey answering questionnaires in the English, Spanish, Chinese and Russian languages to determine the winners. The prize is awarded on the basis of evaluation of dozens of key performance indicators of airline front-line product and service in all classes.

According to some industry reviews, Aeroflot’s quality of service is considered to be the best in Europe in both business and economy classes. The airline regularly features among top European airlines based on the quality of on-board menu. Aeroflot has introduced a new Comfort Class of service on board its Boeing B777 aircraft and is actively implementing the Internet on Board program with Wi-Fi currently activated on its 26 long-haul planes. An excellent record of flight safety has been completed with a superb punctuality record: Aeroflot was ranked among five most punctual European airlines by FlightStats in 2013 as a result of the final selection for the 5th Annual Airline On-Time Performance Service Award FlightStats.com). As the result of these various activities, Aeroflot’s Net Promoter Score reached 58% in 2013 surpassing that of some of its most eminent competitors.
