OREANDA-NEWS.  By agreement with the Russian Federation, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) started shipping 40 KAMAZ trucks to the Central African Republic.
The Russian vehicles donated to WFP’s Afghanistan operation in 2012 proved to be good. Therefore it was decided to use them in the CAR where there are no roads and transport infrastructure to deliver food to starving people.
The RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the Russian KAMAZs will become a major contribution to WFP’s operation to combat one of the gravest humanitarian crises in the world and distribute food to more than 400 thousand people suffering from the ongoing conflict in the CAR.
