OREANDA-NEWS. At Katavski Cement plant, part of EUROCEMENT group, Partner Day was attended by managers, technicians and the laboratory representatives of 10 building industry organizations from the Chelyabinsk Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Opening the Partner Day program, Katavski Cement General Director and EUROCEMENT group Katav-Ivanovsk Branch Manager Aleksandr Chalov thanked customers for their long-standing trust in the high quality of the plant's cement and spoke of the plant's development plans. He also gave clients a detailed explanation of the plant's range of cement products, packaging types and delivery methods and times.

"Our plant produces a wide range of cements corresponding to all normative standards: CEM I 42.5N, CEM II/A-S 32.5R, CEM II/V-S 32.5N and CEM III/A 32.5N. The cements CEM II/A-S 32.5R and CEM II/V-S 32.5N are packaged in three-layer 50 kg paper bags. The cements CEM I 42.5N and CEM II/A-S 32.5B are packaged in soft 1,000 kg big bags. Cement is delivered in bags and in bulk by rail and road (both by the group's cement trucks and bed trucks and the client's transport)", underlined Aleksandr Chalov at the meeting.

The plant's manager paid particular attention to the high quality of the plant's products, as shown by the awards it has received. Quality control is performed at all stages of the production process using modern technology. The plant's products have won the highest awards for quality numerous times, and the plant itself possesses a Passport of High Quality Enterprise.

Aleksandr Chalov also noted that in 2011, EUROCEMENT group became the first national cement company to successfully pass the voluntary environmental certification system for the EcoMaterial 1.3 standard. Receiving this certificate confirms that the group's products conform to all environmental standards, are safe for humans, and that their production process makes use of leading technology and equipment, which minimizes its influence on the surrounding environment. Thanks to its ecological properties, the group's products are recommended for use in the construction and reconstruction of residential homes, pre-school facilities, schools and hospital facilities.

Head of the Quality Control Department and Laboratory Olga Yurina also spoke to the customers. She spoke of the new direction the plant's production control division and laboratories are taking, which lies in their ability to select optimal raw mixes for clients for the production of concrete and to develop technical maps for specific structures. This system allows the group and its clients to create a recipe for the selection of additional components (gravel, sand, etc.) to obtain concrete of the quality required by the individual client (integrated home-building plant, reinforced concrete plant, etc.).

As part of the customer event, a tour of the primary stages of the Katavski Cement plant's production line was organized. Customers inspected:

The plant's own quarry, where high quality raw materials for the production of cement are obtained. The Katavski Cement Technical Director Sergei Gusarov informed the plant's guests that the raw materials for the production of cement available in the plant's own quarry will allow it to continue producing cement constantly for the next 230 years.

The plant's production quality control department and laboratory, which are equipped with modern technology, allowing them to obtain test results in real time, which provides the ability to correct the production process to produce high quality finished products.

The clinker burning division equipped with four rotary furnaces which burn raw material at 1,450°C, causing it to undergo a range of physical and chemical changes and to turn into Portland cement clinker (semi-manufactured material for cement production).

The cement milling division, equipped with five cement mills, each producing 45-46 tons/hour.
