OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2014. The meeting of the "Nizhnekamsk CHPP" labor collective was held on July 22 on the operation results in the first half of 2014.

Alexander Sherstobitov, Chief Engineer of the Company, presented a summary report to the audience. He pointed out that the plant had generated 680 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 2,120,000 Gcal of heat over the first half of the year. Saving amounted to 1,487 tons of reference fuel. Repair of generating fixed assets was performed for the amount of 71.6 million rubles.

Special attention in the report presented was given to the large-scale reconstruction of the station started by TATNEFT Company in 2012. The project aims to considerably improve the reliability of power supply to meet the requirements not only of the TANECO Complex and of tire manufacturing facilities, which are part of TATNEFT, but also the ones of the entire Nizhnekamsk industrial hub. It is expected that completion of the reconstruction will result in increasing the plant's generating capacity from 380 to 730 MW. This will be possible through installation and connection of two low-grade steam turbines with total electrical capacity of 220 MW and putting into operation the previously mothballed generating equipment of 130 MW capacity.

A considerable amount of construction works was performed as of this instant. In particular, a range of works was completed on removal engineering networks from the construction site, construction works were completed at the expanded part of the main building and 132 tons overhead traveling crane was assembled. Work is underway on arrangement of technological pipeline racks, laying of river water lines, construction of open switchgear for transformers and high-voltage equipment, construction of chimney-type and fan-cooling towers is going on, and several other works are being carried out. The reconstruction completion is planned within the coming months.

Much attention was also paid at the meeting not only to the production activities, but also to the Company's social policy aspects. Guzel Gatina, Chairwoman of the "Nizhnekamsk CHPP" Trade Union Committee, pointed out in her speech that both the plant's administration and its labor collective had fully complied with their obligations stipulated by the collective agreement. The main areas of the social activities are labor protection, creation of all necessary working conditions for safe operation, professional growth, comfortable everyday life, qualified health care and proper recreation of the energy workers.

The Trade Union Committee Chairwoman emphasized among other achievements involvement of the employees in innovative activities. Specifically, in 2013, "Nizhnekamsk CHPP" took the second place in the Republican review contest for the best arrangement of invention, rationalization and patent/licensing work among the enterprises of Tatarstan in the "Energy and Housing and Communal Services" category. 176 rationalization proposals have been filed since the beginning of the current year and 76 of them have already been introduced into production with the economic effect of almost 44 million rubles.   The Company's sportsmen won two "silver" awards participating in the JSC TATNEFT and the city of Nizhnekamsk Spartakiad.
