OREANDA-NEWS. In Saint Petersburg the JSC TGC-1 summer programme on overhaul repair of core and auxiliary equipment is being implemented in the CHPPs.

During the non-heating season the power engineers are faced with works on preparation of the city CHPPs for the heating season of 2014 - 2015.

At the Yuzhnaya CHPP, the largest power plant in the composition of TGC-1, overhaul repair of the second power unit with the capacity of 250 MW has commenced. It is planned to repair the boiler unit, the flow section of the turbine cylinder, the electrical equipment and to modernize the Automatic Process Control System. Works will continue until the 1st quarter of 2015. Earlier, similar repairs were performed at the power unit No. 1.

At the Avtovskaya CHPP overhaul repair of the turbine unit No. 6 with the capacity of 100 MW has commenced. Power engineers are now conducting extensive fault detection of the major components of the turbine unit, based on which further works will be performed.

The overhaul repair of the turbine unit No. 3 with the capacity of 50 MW at the Vasileostrovskaya CHPP is nearing completion.

"During the summer period the Company's specialists perform the necessary routine maintenance works on the malfunction diagnostic and repair of the core and auxiliary generating equipment," said the Chief Engineer of JSC TGC-1 Sergey Laputko, "This allows to ensure reliable and safe operation of the plants during seasonal loads, to increase the efficiency of electricity and heat output as well as reduce the impact on the environment."

In general, the Repair and Maintenance Programme of the Company in Saint Petersburg for 2014 involves the repair of five turbine units with total capacity of 610 MW and six boiler units with total steam-production capacity of 2350 tonnes per hour.
