OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2014. Upon instructions from the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) will inspect the largest suppliers of construction materials in the Crimean Federal District.

Antimonopoly officers will inspect around 20 producers of construction materials whether their prices comply with the antimonopoly law.

On 22-25 July , FAS is carrying out an unscheduled inspection of five producers of construction materials in the Crimean Federal District: “Stroiindustria” Bakhchisarai Integrated Works”, “Sharkhinsky Quarry” and “Balaklava Mining Department” - producers of gravel chipping and sand, “Alminsky ZSM” –producers of wall materials from limestone, and “Krymzhelezobeton”.

To prevent violations of the antimonopoly law, producers of construction materials operating in the Crimean Federal District, FAS will also monitor prices for particular construction materials on a monthly basis. The monitoring will enable to timely expose unreasonable growth of prices and undertake measures of antimonopoly enforcement to unfair producers.

“Several large infrastructure projects shall be implemented in the Crimean Federal District. Thereupon, conditions can be created for abusing dominance by some market participants. The objective of the antimonopoly body is to prevent unreasonable growth of prices and ensure non-discriminatory conditions for access of consumers to the goods”, emphasized the Head of FAS Department for Control over Industry and Defence Complex, Maxim Ocvhinnikov.
