OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2014. The Director of the Customs service of Moldova Tudor Balitschi and his Ukrainian counterpart Anatolii Makarenko discussed the agreements reached earlier during telephone talks between Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Iurie Leanca and former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuc.

As the press service of the TC informs, the heads of the customs departments of both countries discussed the mechanisms for trans-boundary cooperation and issues of mutual simplification of customs procedures.

The Ukrainian side has assured that they will not allow the application of non-tariff barriers to imports of agricultural products from Moldova. In particular, the issue of valuation of goods at the customs, which directly affect the import duties, was discussed as well.

Thus, agricultural products from Moldova will be exported to Ukraine on the basis of real value and without additional expenses. Tudor Balitschi also noted the necessity of intensification of cooperation of the customs bodies of Moldova and Ukraine to facilitate the movement of traffic and people across the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
