OREANDA-NEWS. Vale has received another Valemax vessel from the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industry. The vessel is named Ore Majishan and has a capacity of 400, 000 metric tonnes of ore. It is the ninth of 12 Valemax vessels commissioned by Vale in 2008. She was handed over on 11th July in the city of Zhoushan, China.

During the handover of the ore-carrier, Chen Quian, CEO of Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries, and Pietro Allevato, manager of Vale in Singapore, signed a delivery and acceptance contract. On 13th July the vessel set sail from Zhoushan, heading for Brazil, on her maiden voyage. She is scheduled to stop in Singapore to refuel. The new vessel joins Vale's fleet, which so far consists of 31 Valemax vessels. Of these, 16 are their own and 15 are contracted from other shipping companies.
