OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus exported USD 117.531 million worth of butter in January-May 2014, down 31.6%, the national statistical committee Belstat said in a report.

In physical terms, Belarus' exported 20,300 tonnes of butter worth USD 117.531 million in January-May 2014 to compare with 29,697 tonnes worth USD 138.08 million exported in Jan-May 2013.

Butter prices grew from USD 4,650 per tonne in Jan-May 2013 to USD 5,790 per tonne in Jan-May 2014.

Belarus exported 69,279 tonnes of butter worth USD 373.91 million in 2013 (USD 5,397 per tonne), 2012 - 85,570 tonnes worth USD 373.900 million (USD 3,692).

Belarus' controls 8% of the global market of butter exports, Russia being the principal destination.
