Dr. Erkan Tabak, General Manager of Calik Holding's affiliate ALBtelecom, the largest fixed line operator in Albania, and Eagle Mobile, its brand in GSM sector, was granted "City of Saranda Appreciation Award". The Appreciation award was given to recognize ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile's quality services offered in Saranda, major tourism center in the country, and their contributions to the Saranda Orphanage as part of social responsibility projects.

ALBtelecom, a Calik Holding company which is the largest fixed line operator in Albania, and Eagle Mobile, its brand in GSM sector, was granted "City of Saranda Appreciation Award" by the Saranda Municipality. During the ceremony held at the Saranda Municipality Town Hall, ALBtelecom's General Manager Dr. Erkan Tabak received the award from the Mayor Stefan Cipa.

Dr. Erkan Tabak extended his thanks to the Saranda Mayor Cipa for the award and explained the investments made by ALBtelecom in order to offer quality communication service to residents as well as local and foreign tourist in Saranda. Tabak told that they will continue to support social services of the municipality and state as they continuously increase the service quality with the investments they made as ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile. Executives from ALBtelecom visited Saranda orphanage before the award ceremony and gave away the gift packages prepared for the upcoming Ramadan Eid.

With a focus on touristic areas, ALBtelecom installed fixed line, 3.5 G mobile internet and ADSL internet infrastructure as well as wireless (Wi-Fi) internet points in Saranda. Providing daily a free 2-hour internet on the coast of Saranda, ALBtelecom contributes to the city tourism by facilitating communication for tourists. Areas offering Wi-Fi services include the coastal line spanning to Shkoder, Velipoja, Shengjin, Peshkopia, Lezha, Durus, Tiran, Fushe-Kruja, Kavaja, Elbasan, Kucova, Fier, Berat, Corovoda, Vlora, Tepelena, Gjirokastra, Dhermi-Palasa, Himara and Saranda. This pioneering project makes life easier for tourists with fast Wi-Fi internet needs in the coastal or mountain tourism areas.

As this project by ALBtelecom continues to expand to include new points, Wi-Fi service is expected to cover every area across the country. Moreover, there are ongoing rehabilitation projects which are developed for orphanages in some cities of the country as part of ALBtelecom's social responsibility.
