OREANDA-NEWS. The Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, an affiliate of OMK-Steel Open Joint Stock Company, based in the Nizhny Novgorod region, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC, Moscow) increased the production of hot-rolled coiled steel by 6% (to a total of 530,000 tons) against a similar period last year. A total of 162,000 tons of strips and 24,000 tons of sheets were manufactured in the period under review.

“The increase in production has been brought on by the growing consumption of sheets by Vyksa Steel Works' pipe shops, whose production facilities and order volume have grown as compared to the previous year,” said Oleg Fedotov, CRC's Director.

A wide-scale modernization program is being implemented at the second and third electric weld pipe shops of Vyksa Steel Works (VSW Open Joint Stock Company, based in the Nizhny Novgorod region, part of OMK), which will expand the range of the pipes and increase production output. In particular, following the installation of three new highly-productive pipe mills at the second shop, its capacity will grow by almost a third up to 290,000 tons of pipes per year.
