OREANDA-NEWS. In H1 2014, ASKA insurance company increased the payouts by UAH 35.393 million or 43.3% year-on-year. The payout amounts grew 89% in insurance against fire risks and acts of God, and 63% in compulsory third party insurance. In this accounting period, ASKA paid out UAH 40,834,600 to Azovstal Steel Plant, and reinsurers compensated 99.2% of this amount.

In Q2 2014, ASKA's insurance charges rose by 2.8 times, or UAH 120.555 million against Q1 2014. The charges for Q2 totalled UAH 186.029 million, which is UAH 18.1m less than in Q2 2013.

In this half-year, ASKA concluded 85,418 agreements, including 19,903 for voluntary insurance and 65,515 for compulsory insurance. Most of them were CTP and Green Card agreements: 50,687 and 12,261 respectively.

As of 1 July 2014, ASKA's insurance reserve amounts to UAH 518.703 million.

UASK ASKA was established in 1990 as the first national non-public insurance company. It operated under the Russia-based holding ASKO until 1995. At present, it is 89.09% owned by SCM Group, the biggest national financial and industrial group.

UASK ASKA and its subsidiary ASKO Donbass Severny focus on the non-life insurance. ASKA's regional network comprises 30 customer service centres and 21 representative offices in all Ukrainian regions. The company holds 37 voluntary and compulsory insurance licences.

ASKA is the second most recognised brand among insurance companies that covers about 4.5% of the classical insurance market of Ukraine. In 2012, the company was the leader among the national insurers in terms of insurance payouts.

The authorised fund of UASK ASKA is UAH 184,585 million.
