OREANDA-NEWS. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company paid compensation in the amount of over RUB 4.8 m to a Moscow bank for the damage to ATMs and the theft of cash from the machines.

On May 23 and May 27, 2014, some unidentified persons broke open the safe boxes of two ATMs and stole the cash.

Based on the results of expert examination, the ATMs were recognized to be unsuitable for further operation and had to be written off.

After all the circumstances of the offences were substantiated and the policy holder submitted the necessary documents, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company recognized both cases as insured accidents and paid compensation in the amount of RUB 3.19 m and RUB 1.61 m.

In accordance with the terms of the insurance policy, insurance indemnity was paid in respect of both the loss of stolen money and the damage to the ATMs, as the policy covered both ATMs and the cash inside.
