OREANDA-NEWS. For the second consecutive year, Symantec, with CROC's support, is holding the C^2: Cyber Challenge, a series of information security events. A business conference and Russian hackers' tournament will allow participants and attendees to explore the most critical issues related to corporate data protection from different angles, as well as learn more about cyber threat global intelligence and best practices. Like last year, the tournament and the business conference will be a magnet for hundreds of information security enthusiasts. CNews organizes the event.

"Information security challenges are not any less relevant to the business community, and cyber security issues are becoming more and more complex," says Andrey Vyshlov, Head of Symantec Russia, CIS, and Israel. He continues: "Our C^2: Cyber Challenge project allows participants to test their skills in a unique and realistic environment developed by Symantec and enjoy an unforgettable experience."

On August 15-19, 2014, information security enthusiasts and experts will have an opportunity to participate in an online Cyber Readiness Challenge. Contestants will have to perform a number of "capture the flag" tasks. The online event allows anyone to assess their skills and companies whose specialists participate in the event can evaluate their protection level. Winners of the online event will have the opportunity to come to Moscow for an offline (live) event on September 17. In addition, winners will also receive awards at the live event.

"Last year, our hack quest involved students and systems administrators, programmers, and information security professionals, including heads of security departments. The winner was a student who then also went on to win the EMEA Championship for country finalists in Nice and produced the best results, leaving even the most experienced security experts far behind," commented Mikhail Bashlykov, Head of Information Security at CROC.

The business conference will be held in parallel with the live event in September-attendees will learn about the newest and most popular information security threats, trends and business opportunities. Leading industry players will then provide their recommendations to attendees.
