OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2014. The Head of the Anti-Cartel Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Andrey Tenischev, took part in a meeting at the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (the Ministry of Emergencies) on implementing requirements of the technical regulations on fire safety.

Andrey Tenischev informed participants about investigating the antimonopoly cases initiated by FAS upon elements of restricting competition on the markets related with selling equipment that transmits fire signals to control panels of fire protection units.

A representative of the Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation for protecting the right of entrepreneurs, Marina Bloudyan, reported on increasingly common incidents when participants of these markets ask to protect their rights, and pointed out that the markets related with selling equipment transmitting fire signals to control panels of fire protection units can be competitive.

“Undoubtedly, with strict compliance with technical standards and regulations it is possible to develop competition on the markets related with selling equipment that transmits fire signals to control panels of fire protection units”, emphasized Andrey Tenischev. “Healthy competition will only increase the level of fire safety in Russia, and the positions taken by FAS Russia and the Ministry of Emergencies on the issue are in harmony”.
