OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2014. GAZ Group presented the electrobus LiAZ-6274 and the bus LiAZ-529230 at the exhibition of modern achievements of the transport industry. The event will on Akademika Sakharova Avenue in Moscow as part of celebration of the 90th anniversary of the opening of the regular bus traffic.

The exhibition presented the vehicles operated on the routes of Moscow since the 70-ies of the last century, as well as buses involved in the passenger traffic system at the moment, and future models.

Nikolay Odintsov, Director of Bus Division, “Historically, buses of the GAZ Group plants formed the basis of the Moscow bus fleet. In recent years, our model range of buses has grown considerably to meet modern standards for safety and comfort of passengers. Specifically for the Olympiad, we manufactured the bus LiAZ-529230, which absorbed all most advanced developments of the bus building. After performing the Olympic order, Moscow became the first city that acquired this model to operate it on its routes. Also, at the exhibition of modern vehicles, we show the LiAZ electrobus which allows elimination of harmful emissions, improvement of comfort for passengers by reducing the level of noise and vibration in the passenger compartment, and a significant reduction of operating costs”.

The low-floor large bus LiAZ-5292.30 demonstrated the reliability and power of the component base while serving the complex transport routes of Sochi during the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The vehicle is designed for urban transportation with high passenger flow. Low floor and lack of steps provide a high speed of the passenger traffic and shorten the route time by 15%. The bus is equipped with a 275 hp Euro-4 Scania engine. The constructive solution of the body allowed increasing the passenger capacity up to 112 people, which is the best indicator in the class of large city buses. The bus provides space for passengers with reduced mobility. A mechanical extensible ramp and an adjustable bus-tilt angle (up to 7° towards the doors) allow the minimum slope for boarding the bus at bus stops not equipped with ramps for wheelchairs.

LiAZ-6274 electrobus is an alternative to large buses with petrol, diesel and gas engines. The vehicle is designed for urban transportation on the basis of the low-floor bus LiAZ-5292 and operates on batteries charged from the mains. The electrobus is equipped with an induction motor, a traction engine inverter on IGBT-transistors and an energy storage unit. Lithium-ion batteries provide a fuel distance of up to 280 km. The batteries are fully charged in five hours.
