OREANDA-NEWS. Mostotrest continues the reconstruction of the motor road from the intersection of the Garden Ring with Novy Arbat to the intersection of Mozhayskoye Highway with the Moscow Automobile Ring Road (MKAD). The project's customer is the Moscow City Department of Construction.

The reconstruction of the flyover from Ryabinovaya street to Govorova street (with a total length of 2.4 km) has been completed. The Mostotrest professionals began the construction of the longest flyover at radial highways of Moscow in August 2013. The new flyover is to be commissioned in September 2014. Proper operational planning and workflow monitoring allowed the company to speed up the construction of pillars and the installation of superstructures through improved resources and technology management. Through the use of knee-gateway unit, the installation of superstructures was carried out without stopping the road traffic at three intersections (at the intersection of Gvardeyskaya-Ryabinovaya, Kubinka-Vitebskskaya, Tolbukhina-Vyazemskaya).

Pillars and retaining walls have been erected within five months. The total amount of concrete used reached 41,000 cubic meters; 17,300 tons of steel superstructures together with the deck elements were installed; about 50,000 square meters were paved with asphalt-concrete. Currently, the roadway elements are being finalized: barrier fence, dirt screens, lighting, cable ducts, painting and fire protection of the superstructures and pillars, as well as the development of space under the flyover for a parking to accommodate over 1,000 cars.

The reconstruction is being carried out in densely built-up urban areas without stopping the traffic. For a period of reconstruction, a detour route has been established through the three-lane roads along Mozhayskoye Highway with a total length of about 6 km.

The resurfacing of utilities along Mozhayskoye Highway from the Garden Ring to MKAD has been completed, including 86 km of fiber-optic communication networks, 65.5 km of electric cables, 48 km of street lighting cables (575 light poles), 6.2 km of rainwater drainage, 2 km of water supply pipes, 1.5 km of sewerage pipes, 400 m of heating pipes. The reconstruction of three pedestrian underpasses has been completed. The construction of a pedestrian underpass has been completed. Out of 43 planned bus stops, 40 have been completed. Soundproofed windows have been installed in the buildings located in the reconstruction area.

According to project manager Victor Korotin, the commissioning will increase the section's throughput by 30%. A freeway will be organized along Mozhayskoye Highway from MKAD to the Garden Ring. Exit lanes to intersecting streets will be arranged at the two roads along both sides of Mozhayskoye Highway. After commissioning the Mozhayskoye Highway flyover, these side roads will be used as city traffic elements with dedicated lanes for public transport.
