As Nanjing is to host the upcoming second Youth Olympic Games ("YOG"), Agricultural Bank of China Limited (“ABC”) has launched a series of activities, create an atmosphere for standard services and provide premium and efficient financial services to the sports event. Focusing on standard service promotion at outlets, financial innovation, process upgrading and enhancement of core competence, it has intensified efforts in outlet construction, window services, electronic services, marketing skills improvement of outlet employees and product promotion.

The YOG will be held from August 16 to August 28, attracting 3,808 athletes from 204 countries/regions. To ensure the smooth running of various tasks, ABC Jiangsu Branch, by starting with establishing and improving organizational mechanisms, has held a financial service coordination meeting titled "Welcome YOG with Strong Service Support", and set up a steering group for YOG financial services. Besides, it formulated specific financial service action plans, and defined the duties and work division of various departments and the timetable for key tasks to ensure accountability.

The Branch has made considerate arrangements for YOG financial services. First, it has strengthened the construction of hardware facilities at its outlets, improved the service environment, standardized service etiquettes, and conducted supervision and inspection mainly in the host city Nanjing and peripheral tourist cities including Suzhou, Wuxi, Zhenjiang and Yangzhou. Second, it has organized special staff trainings on serving the YOG, streamlined the process for handling customer consultation, and enhanced the foreign exchange service capability of its outlets and the quick response capability of its customer service centers. Third, it has improved the card use environment, reinforced the management and maintenance of self-service machines, and accelerated the system renovation and upgrading of machines that handle cards of other banks to ensure card use security. Fourth, it has established a YOG financial service emergency team, and launched such services as troubleshooting for self-service equipment, minority language services, special business and product consulting, and system lines and security support.

As the "host" of YOG financial services, the banking department of Jiangsu Branch has strengthened the YOG payment environment by making early preparations and arrangements. The department has taken every efforts to ensure proper services during the YOG. Specifically, it reinforced the inspection of hardware facilities, environmental sanitation, logos and signs at outlets near YOG venues, major hotels and tourist destinations. It also carried out special trainings on the service capability and verbal communication skills of its outlets, and determined the categories of major foreign currencies to be handled at outlets and the supply amount of minor currencies.

To provide a safe and efficient bank card use environment, the department has ensured 100% POS coverage at venues, main media center and hotels. Furthermore, it checked withdrawal logos for international cards and China UnionPay logos on all the self-service facilities to ensure they are uniform and standardized. It has also conducted self-checks on the acceptance of cards of other banks at all its acquiring institutions, POS terminals and ATMs to boost the acceptance capability.

To enhance the emergency handling capability, the department has put in place a special service dispute settlement mechanism to properly handle the public opinions on and complaints about its payment service. It clarified responsible persons for respective services so as to ensure they can tackle any problem at outlet at first time, eliminate emergencies and restore normal services.
