OREANDA-NEWS. Belorusneft seismic exploration project in Ecuador recognized as the Best Project of 2014.

The annual award ceremony was held in Quito (Ecuador) on August 20, 2014 by “Oil&Gas Year” magazine. State oil and gas company Belorusneft won the “Best Seismic Project 2014” award for the implementation of the seismic exploration project in the eastern oil-bearing basin of Ecuador.

This project was the first experience of the Belarusian exploration experts in Ecuador. The contract for the seismic survey was signed in 2013. The project covers 3D seismic survey over the area of 1 500 sq. m. The feature of such exploration is that the survey is partially carried out in the territory of the largest park of the country called “Yasuny”. It recognized not only as biosphere reserve famous for its species diversity, but also for the fact of being homeland to the two aboriginal tribes who had declared their voluntary isolation. With due consideration given to these two peculiarities the environmental protection requirements to seismic operations are significantly more strict. It is compliance with the regulations and the professionalism of the experts allowed Belorusneft to win the “Best Seismic Project 2014” award.

The winners of “Oil&Gas Year” magazine award in other categories were state oil companies of Petroecuador and Petroamazonas.
