OREANDA-NEWS. One of the world's leading rating agencies revised the outlook on PrivatBank's ratings to "stable", and assessed the bank's stand-alone credit profile higher than the sovereign rating, noting PrivatBank's leading market position and sustainability.

International rating agency Standard & Poor's announced the revision of the outlook on Ukraine-based PrivatBank ratings to "stable" from "negative".Also Standard & Poor's assessed the bank's stand-alone credit profile (SACP) at "b", that is currently 2 notches higher than the sovereign rating.

According to S&P report PrivatBank's rating reflects its "strong" business position, and "adequate" risk position, "average" funding and "moderate" liquidity. The ratings also reflect the bank's dominant position in the

banking sector of Ukraine and Eastern Europe, stronger asset quality than the system average and lower single-name concentrations than peers.

S&P notes that PrivatBank will be able to retain its leadership position in the Ukrainian banking sector in the challenging operating environment due to more conservative strategy and better developed risk management than the system average. Also PrivatBank's provisioning policy is conservative, and should provide an additional buffer against the tough operating conditions in the domestic banking sector.The long-term credit rating on PrivatBank affirmed at "CCC" is constrained by the foreign currency long-term sovereign rating on Ukraine in accordance with the Standard & Poor's rating methodology.

In 2014 PrivatBank maintained the 8th position by Tier 1 capital among the Top-10 largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe within the Top-1000 world leading banks ranking annually published by British magazine The Banker. Today the bank serves 14.6 million individuals and 334 thousand corporate customers. As at July 1st, 2014 the bank's assets amounted to UAH 204.199 billion, regulatory capital was UAH 20.8 billion and the bank's net profit for the first half of 2014 - UAH 387.2 million. The bank's regional network includes 2,882 branches and outlets, 7,592 ATMs and 11,647 self-service terminals.
