OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2014.  Pertamina (Persero) President Director Karen Agustiawan has officially confirmed her resignation plan per 1 October 2014.

“I have submitted the resignation letter as a president director to the company by copying State-Owned Enterprise Minister as general shareholders meeting (RUPS), board of commissioners and board of directors. My resignation is based on personal reasons and also for the sake of the leadership regeneration process in Pertamina. I have been a member of the board of directors for 6.5 years, where I serve as upstream director for a year and 5.5 years as president director,” Karen revealed.

Karen was inaugurated as upstream director on 5 March 2008. She was then inaugurated as president director on 5 February 2009 with a tenure that ended on 4 March 2014. On 5 March 2013, shareholders decided to extend Karen’s tenure for the second five-year period.

“I have to emphasize here that my resignation process has been ongoing since early 2013. When my tenure was about to be extended, I had also tried to refuse with the same reasons, personal reasons and the necessity of leadership regeneration in a corporation. Thus, I expect that this resignation is not linked to anything outside those reasons moreover related to politics and be politicized,” Karen said.
