OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2014. First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has met with First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov.

The meeting discussed issues related to participation of Kazakhstani enterprises in Russia import substitution program, application of the TIR Convention on the territory of the Customs Union, and Kazakhstan's exports of food products to the Russian Federation.

In particular, the import substitution program invites about 60 Kazakh companies to supply the Russian market with domestic products of machine-building, mining, pharmaceutical, light and wood industries, as well as the construction industry.

As for the development of the export of foodstuffs to the Russian Federation, Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that today more than 20 Kazakh companies are ready to supply flour, rice, buckwheat, onions, canned vegetables, honey and confectionery to the Russian Federation.

The sides stressed the need to further deepen bilateral relations and economic integration.
