OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2014. The Gazprom headquarters hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Li Hui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation.

The parties addressed the progress with and the prospects for strategic cooperation, placing a special emphasis on the Russian pipeline gas supply to China.

Background
On May 21, 2014 Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation signed the contract for the Russian pipeline gas supply to China. The 30-year contract stipulates gas supplies via the eastern route – the Power of Siberia gas trunkline – in the amount of 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
