OREANDA-NEWS. In the first half of 2014 the Refinery increased production of high-octane gasoline, conforming to Class 5 of the Technical regulations, by 57 %. Besides, the plant stopped production of Euro-4 class fuels due to the growth of excise duties.

Increase in output became possible due to a range of activities, implemented in the Refinery: they started to use isobutyl alcohol - a high-octane additive, produced in “Monomer” plant, they replaced the catalyst system on the L-16 (hydrocracking) unit that allowed the Company to reduce the sulphur content in the feedstock of catalyst cracking units. In 2013 the Company realized a scheme of NK-62 gasoline cut supply to JSC “Synthez-Kauchuk”. Having refined the gasoline cut, the Company receives isopentane - a high-octane component. Since Reformate fractionation facility started-up on L-35-11/1000 Unit in 2012, benzene content has been reduced by 1%.

In the nearest future the Company is going to increase the output of the Top Class fuel due to a modernization program, which is being implemented in the Refinery. Thus, isomerization unit of pentane-hexane fraction is under construction now. The project is aimed at the production of isomerizate - a high-octane component of gasoline, which does not contain sulphur, benzene, aromatics and alkenes. The modernization program will make it possible to improve the quality of petroleum products, to increase the oil refining ratio and enhance the environmental efficiency of the Company as well.
