OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2014. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the priority state policy issues and a number of draft documents were considered.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports. In particular, they reported on the measures taken to finance through concessional lending the construction of modern plants producing bread and bread products in Ashgabat and the velayats of the country.

The reports focused on the preparations for the participation in the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will open in New York (US) on 16 September. were presented. In this regard, the priority stances of Turkmenistan, which will be presented at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, were considered. These particularly include the proposals of Turkmenistan to continue to build up a constructive dialogue in five important areas, such as the protection and promotion of global peace and security, energy and transport cooperation, humanitarian issues and human rights, ecology and environmental protection.

The report on the outcomes of the fourth session of Mejlis of the fifth convocation was presented. Parliamentarian considered the new draft laws, including the Law on International Commercial Arbitration, the Law on Foreign Economic Activity, the Law on Electric Power Industry, the Law on Food Safety and Quality, the Law on Science and Technology Park, the Law on the establishment of the honorary title Turkmenistanyn ussat halypa capyksuwary and a number of legal acts. Parliamentarians considered the draft resolutions of Mejlis.

The report on the preparations for the opening of the boarding school with a rehabilitation centre for 420 children in Ashgabat on September 1 was presented. It was reported that the pace of the winter wheat sowing campaign launched in all the regions of the country was accelerated. agricultural workers are currently engaged in inter-row cultivation, application of mineral fertilizers and other agricultural activities on cotton fields. 156 procurement stations and 36 ginning plants were prepared for the 'white gold' campaign.

The report on the preparations for the launch of the large-scale investment project - the construction of the plant processing natural gas and producing gasoline in Ahal Velayat was presented. The relevant framework agreement was signed between Turkmengaz State Concern and the consortium of companies Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd (Japan) and Ronesans Turkmen (Turkey) was signed in September 2013 during the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan.

The information on the preparations for the 3rd meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation scheduled for August 27 was presented.

The report on the preparations for the Days of Culture of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan, which will be held on September 22-25, was presented. A big delegation of cultural and art workers from the brotherly country will perform concerts in Ashgabat and Mary Velayat.

It was reported that 2,900 educational institutions, including 1,808 schools, 972 kindergartens, 64 primary vocational schools and 40 secondary vocational schools, would start to work in the new academic year. 59 schools and 20 kindergartens and the new buildings of the International University of Humanities and Development and the training school with a rehabilitation centre will be put into operation to mark the beginning of the new academic year.

113,000 schoolchildren will go to school in the new academic year. Personal computers were bought for first formers and distributed among schools. The proposals for the construction of private cotton-spinning factories in Serahs Etrap in Ahal Velayat and Dashoguz Velayat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on the preparations for the International Exhibition Turkmengurlusyk-2014 and the International Science Conference on the Development of the Building Industry in Turkmenistan, which will be held at Sergi kosgi Exhibition Centre on August 27-29, was presented. The report on the preparations for the construction of Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway was presented. The information on the international tender held by the Ministry of Road Transport to select the consulting company for the aforesaid project was presented.

The draft design and layout of the highway bridge in Derveze Etrap of Ahal Velayat, where the highway will start, were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on the preparations for Turkmenistan-Belarus Business Forum, which will be held in Ashgabat on September 10, and the fair of Byelorussian products, which will be held on November 25-30 in Ashgabat, was presented.

The report on the construction of the modern communication system along Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi railway was presented. Building and installation work on the new train station in Balkanabat are nearing completion.

Other state policy issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
