OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' chemical company OAO Grodno Azot manufactured Br6.131 trillion worth of chemical products (USD 590.693 million) in January-July 2014, up 6.1% on the year, the company said in an official report posted on the company's web site.

In July 2014 commodity output stood at Br806.568 trillion (USD 77.704 million).

OAO Grodno Azot's mineral fertilizer production stood at 469,960 tonnes (in terms of 100% nitrogen) in January-July 2014, up 7.6% on the year. In July alone nitrogen fertilizer output increased 2.1% on the year to 53,997 tonnes; carbamide output increased 16.7% to 604,575 tonnes (July - up 17.5 to 65,293 tonnes).

Grodno Azot decreased output of ammonium sulphate by 7.7% in January-July 2014 up to 227,070 tonnes (July - 29,860 tonnes, down 16.8%); nitrosol - 446,059 tonnes, down 2.5% (July - 58,443 tonnes, down 10.8%); ammonia - 628,791 tonnes, up 8.4% (July - 75,098 tonnes, up 9%), sulphuric acid - 152,624 tonnes, down 8.5% (July - 19,178 tonnes, down 20.2%); caprolactam - 74,522 tonnes, down 7.2% (July - 9,627 tonnes, down 17.9%); chemical fibres - 23,105 tonnes, up 0.5% (July - 3,065 tonnes, down 22%).

Grodno Azot was set up in 1963 and transformed into an open joint-stock company in 2002. The Belarusian government holds a 99.97% stake.

Grodno Azot is Belarus' main producer of liquid ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, caprolactam, biodiesel fuel.
