OREANDA-NEWS. In August 2014, Ukrainskiy Retail that manages Brusnichka store chain has launched a distribution centre in Dnepropetrovsk.

The DC has an area of 11,000 sqm and can supply goods to around 130 stores. The specialists have equipped the facility with new WMS software to boost its efficiency. The system improves all warehouse operations, optimises the use of facilities and loading equipment, provides accurate information about goods location in a warehouse and ensures efficient management of fresh products.

The company originally planned to launch the DC in Dnepropetrovsk in the middle of October 2014. Up to that moment, Brusnichka store chain should have been receiving the goods from the distribution centres in Makeyevka, Donetsk oblast. However, the situation in Donbass escalated and was causing serious difficulties with supplying goods to DCs and distributing them to the stores. The chain complained about delays and short deliveries.

Brusnichka's management is taking every effort to provide customers with necessary goods in all fresh-markets. The store chain has decided to launch an additional warehouse early in order to avoid shortages in the stores. The new DC will ensure stable supplies to Brusnichka stores in Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava and Kharkov oblasts, and also improve logistics, as the chain needs are rapidly growing.

The new DC is now handling a limited amount of goods (around 1,100 SKUs), although it will reach the full capacity this autumn. The distribution centre in Dnepropetrovsk has created about 100 jobs. The company plans to hire additional 130 employees by October 2014.
