OREANDA-NEWS. Belorusneft has begun construction of a new powerful photovoltaic power station.

It will be erected on the territory of the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant. The plant capacity is 3.6 MW. The design decisions include arrangement of two sites for this power plant. 14 465 photovoltaic panels, distribution devices and three inverter stations (DC-AC converters) will be installed on them. Frame field assembly works are currently under way on the construction site.

The future power station is not the first photovoltaic energetics object built by oil industry workers. The pilot project on introduction of renewable sources of energy was implemented at the end of the last year at the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant. In its frame a 40 kW photovoltaic mini-station was erected at the plant site. Besides, solar energy ensures the operation of filling stations No. 60 in Silichi, No. 75 in Gomel and No. 64 in the town of Ivanovo, Brest region.

The use of these alternative sources of energy is stipulated in the Energy development strategy of the Belorusneft association till 2015.
