OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus has taken all the necessary steps to prevent the transit of products subject to the import embargo to the Russian Federation via the territory of Belarus, the State Customs Committee of Belarus told.

The State Customs Committee of Belarus and the Federal Customs Service of Russia have developed procedures to be used for the customs administration of the commodities that are banned from entering the Russian territory across the Belarusian section of the Customs Union border.

In certain cases Belarusian customers officers choose to confer with their Russian colleagues, whether a certain Russia-bound cargo should be given the green light.

The State Customs Committee has assured that shipments of meat, fish, dairy products, vegetables, and fruits to Belarus' domestic market are monitored daily. There have been no considerable changes in the volume or the structure of shipments of those products registered, the customs officials said.
