OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2014. The Bank of East Asia, Limited (“BEA”) held an award presentation ceremony yesterday at its Head Office in Central for recipients of the Bank’s University Scholarship for Staff Member Dependents (“BEA Scholarship”).

Launched in June 2014, the BEA Scholarship programme recognizes the academic performance, extracurricular achievements, and charitable contributions of secondary school / university – level dependents of staff members of the Bank and its wholly - owned subsidiaries.

This year, nine recipients have been selected by the assessment panel. 

BEA supports a wide range of educational programmes in Hong Kong. In 2013, the Bank helped fund the establishment of the Institute for Advanced Study Bank of East Asia Professorship at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

In addition, for two consecutive years, The Bank of East Asia Charitable Foundation has served as title sponsor of the BEA Parent-Child Reading Programme organised by Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui’s Religious Education Resource Centre. Each year, the Foundation also offers a number of scholarships to eligible students of many tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.
