OREANDA-NEWS. OAO Belarusian Potash Company - the country's designated potash export company - and Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) have signed a contract to supply to Bangladesh around 120,000 tonnes of potash fertilizers worth USD 40 million.

Belarus' Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich made an announcement to this effect at a meeting with an official delegation from Bangladesh on Wednesday.

In addition to potash fertilizers, Belarus plans to supply Bangladesh with a large number of Belarusian machinery till the end of 2014, Myasnikovich informed.

In his words, Belarus is ready to provide Bangladesh with a full scope of agricultural machinery, technologies and practical experience, the premier said.

In turn, Bangladesh is interested in opening a chamber of commerce in Belarus and promotes Bangladesh-made pharmaceuticals on the Belarusian markets.

Belarus's mutual turnover with Bangladesh totalled USD 133 million in 2013, including USD 115 million worth of Belarusian exports. Potash fertilizers are Belarus' major export on the market of Bangladesh. Since 2006 Belarus supplied Bangladesh with more than 1.2 million tonnes of potash fertilizers worth USD 500 million.
