OREANDA-NEWS. September 1, 2014 a delegation of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) visited the Republic of Turkey. As part of the visit, Istanbul played host to an international business forum organized by BUCE in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Turkey and the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul.

Attending the event was administration of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Istanbul Commodity Exchange, Consul General and Vice Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, representatives of the Turkish, Bulgarian and Serbian business communities. The forum also gathered the representatives of several major Belarusian companies interested in expanding their sales markets, including Bellesexport, Belorusskaya Lesnaya Kompaniya, Mostovdrev and Bellakt. Based on the results of the forum the sides reach an agreement to develop joint projects involving the use of electronic and exchange trade mechanisms.

Besides the forum, BUCE delegation also held talks with the representatives of Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, Istanbul Commodity Exchange and Borsa Istambul. Among the key issues raised during the discussion was intensification of cooperation in cross border trade and prospects of using exchange instruments to provide Turkish companies with a free access to the market of Belarus and other countries of the Customs Union.

The visit to Izmir - the second point on the itinerary - was timed to the 83rd International Izmir Fair in which BUCE participated as a stand holder. This event enabled BUCE to familiarize Turkish companies with its activity and services in the field of electronic and exchange auctions and helped find new partners that will assist BUCE with its promotional efforts in Turkey.

In addition, during the Belarusian-Turkish business forum held in the Chamber of Industry of the Aegean Region, BUCE representatives discussed the most efficient ways of establishing trade relations between residents of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Turkey taking into account the ramified logistics infrastructure created by BUCE in Turkey and Bulgaria.
