OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2014. OJSC International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) continues developing the infrastructure of non-cash payments in the country.

The Bank reports that for the first 8 months of 2014 the IBA installed new cash machines in 35 populated localities of the country that makes up 64% of the total number of cash machines installed by Azerbaijani banks since early 2014.

"The IBA cash machine net is currently numbering 725 machines (29.2% of the total index around the country). During the reported period the Bank installed POS-terminals at 2,448 trade and service enterprises, and their total figure now reaches 7,399," the IBA said.

IBA has been the national pioneer in the field of emission and processing of payment cards, starting such operations in 1997 (MasterCard) and 1998 (Visa).
