OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2014. According to the Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dossayev Kazakhstan is ranked 50th among 144 countries in the Global Competitiveness Index.

He noted that it became known after publication of the report on global competitiveness of the World Economic Forum 2014-2015.

"Kazakhstan is the 50th among 144 countries with an average point 4.42, keeping its position in the group of countries in transition position from the second stage of effective development to a higher third stage of innovation development, where factors of efficiency and innovative development are given a higher specific weight," Minister said at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.

According to him, in this ranking Kazakhstan also took the 50th place with 4.41 point in 2013, and 51st place in 2012 (4.38 points).

Countries are ranked based on 12 factors in the ranking of the World Economic Forum, and Kazakhstan enters the top 30 countries by the two of them, Y. Dossayev said.
