OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2014. The results of the strategy and business management national championship Global Management Challenge were announced at the award ceremony that took place at Sberbank’s head office.

Lev Khasis, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank took part in the event. Teams from 19 regions across Russia took part in the championship. The team from Sverdlovsk Region won the professional competition, while the team from Rostov won the student competition.

Global Management Challenge emerged in 1980 in Portugal; the largest global management competition was held in 30 countries in 2014. The Global Management Challenge is an interactive educational project that embraces innovative technology: complex computer business simulator that imitates the process of managing a medium sized business amid global competition. Participants face a range of challenges: making strategic decisions in marketing, production, personnel, finance, logistics, while increasing the price of their ‘virtual’ company’s stock on the simulated stock market and competing with other teams.

Every year 10,000-15,000 people take part in the Russian championship, including company managers, entrepreneurs, students from the presidential management training program, MBA programs and other faculties. The winners of the Russian competition will go on to the world championship, which will take place in Russia for the second consecutive year. This year the 2014 Olympic capital, Sochi, will host the event.

The Russian championship will be organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
