OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2014. Regular board meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission has been held with participation of First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev in Moscow.

The meeting participants considered the most pressing issues in the framework of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space, establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The main issues on the agenda were questions aimed at establishing effective activity of organs of the Eurasian Economic Unionin accordance with Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union signed on May 29, 2014.

In particular, common positions on issues such as implementation of translating international treaties and acts of the Union into national languages, the order of their publication were developed. In addition, there have been reached agreements on formation of new structure of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union.

During the meeting, the Council discussed the progress in preparation of the Roadmap on accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Common Economic Space.

There was a constructive debate on formation of a common market for drugs that will ensure availability of safe and quality medicines and will increase competitiveness of pharmaceutical companies of the Union’s member states in the world market.

As part of today's meeting, a plan for development of technical regulations of the Customs Union for 2014-2015 has been approved, and a draft agreement on movement of ozone-depleting substances and their inclusion in mutual trade within the Customs Union has been approved.

Common understanding on coordination of actions to combat violations of intellectual property was reached.

In general, significant progress on key aspects of cooperation has been made by the end of discussion.

"We have had a productive meeting today and have found constructive and mutually beneficial decisions on important issues," Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.
