OREANDA-NEWS. TAL group (TAL Dai-ichi Life Australia Pty Limited (TDA) and its subsidiaries), the wholly owned subsidiary of The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited, today announced the appointment of Brett Clark as TAL Group CEO effective from April 1, 2015. This coincides with the planned retirement of current TAL Group CEO Jim Minto.

The TAL Board, together with Dai-ichi Life, has been planning the succession transition of TAL Group CEO for a considerable period of time. Jim, who is retiring, has led TAL to become the industry leader in the life insurance market (for protection products) in Australia.

Brett has been a senior executive with TAL for six years and has made a significant contribution to TAL. Currently in the position of CEO of the TAL Life business division, Brett’s present role includes accountability for the adviser and group insurance business. Brett is an experienced financial services executive with 25 years of financial services experience across a broad range of functions including strategy, finance, sales and distribution, product and marketing and operations in both the Australian and international insurance markets.

Effective October 1, 2014, Brett is appointed Deputy Group CEO and will be working on TAL’s strategy and its positioning for the next phase of its evolution.

Along with the appointment of the new CEO, Dai-ichi Life Group expects TALto continue strengthening its presence in the Australian life insurance market and to further contribute to the Group overseas businessin the long term.
