OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2014. Valentin Gapanovich, Senior Vice-President of Russian Railways, Igor Mikhalkin, Managing Director, Research and Production Centre of Informational and Transport Systems (RPC INFOTRANS), and Dietrich Moeller, President of Siemens in Russia and Vice-President of Siemens AG, signed a memorandum on cooperation on integrated railway infrastructure diagnostics.

The memorandum was signed on 24 September 2014 at InnoTrans, an international specialised exhibition of transport equipment taking place in Berlin, the German capital.

The partners are interested in ensuring the safety of the high-speed Sapsan trains and improving the maintenance quality of high-speed rail infrastructure. To facilitate the maintenance of the electric equipment, it is proposed to equip two Sapsan trains with information-measuring systems with integrated infrastructure diagnostics.

In order to implement the provisions of the memorandum, a joint working group will be set up to agree on the key legal and commercial conditions for cooperation, a timetable and a programme to equip the electric trains with the information and measurement systems.
