OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2014. That was a topic for the discussion between Moldova's Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov and Poland’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Marek Savicki, the Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova informs.

The officials were satisfied with the high level of the bilateral cooperation and discussed the outlook for the Moldova-Poland collaboration in the agricultural sector and rural development as well as projects to be implemented in the areas of mutual interest. Vasile Bumacov thanked Poland for the support it gives to Moldova's agricultural sector, including the loan provided by the Polish government to back agricultural projects in Moldova.

As InfoMarket has reported earlier, 90% of the Polish loan of EUR 100 million will be allotted to Moldova’s agriculture and 10% has been assigned for the domestic industry. Moldova’s government imposed the responsibility for lending to the agricultural sector and the related infrastructure on the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments; the lending to the industrial sector and the related infrastructure will be responsibility of the Bureau for Absorption of the Japan’s Government’s Grant.

The Polish credit is to be issued for 25 years at an interest rate of 0.15% and with the 5-year long grace period. It will be lent to farmers of Moldova for them to buy modern farming machines in Poland. The funds will also be used to construct modern storehouses and purchase grading, washing and packing lines, to modernize Moldova’s poultry sector by constructing a modern incubator, reequip poultry factories and build an egg powder plant. Besides, modern shambles and cattle farms will be constructed, milk processing lines will be upgraded, etc.
