OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2014. Oil production at the Kashagan oil field will be resumed in the second half of 2016, Vice Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev announced at the exhibition “Oil and Gas - KIOGE 2014” .

"Based on the information and technological forecasts that we have, the resumption of production will start in the second half of 2016. It will be resumed after all pipes are replaced," Vice Minister Mirzagaliyev said.

Earlier it was reported that oil production at the Kashagan field was suspended in autumn 2013 due to a gas leak.

“KazMunaiGas” Company agreed on fuel supplies to Kazakhstan from abroad," Deputy Energy Minister of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliyev told.

According to him, KazMunaiGas contracted for 180,000 tons of fuel deliveries with Russia and 10,000 tons with Azerbaijan to avoid fuel shortages in the country.

Magzum Mirzagaliyev noted that after the completion of modernization of the refinery in 2016, the domestic market will be fully provided with fuel and lubricants, and there will be no fuel shortages in Kazakhstan until 2022-2023.
