OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2014. The draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations on Technical Cooperation Trust Fund" was approved at the plenary session of the Majilis.

"The main purpose of the Agreement is helding Global e-Government Forum on October 6-8, 2014. This forum is considered a major event in the world in the field of information and communication technologies. According to the results of the forum, we plan to promote the experience of Kazakhstan in the development of "e-government" both among developed and developing countries. Implementation period of the Agreement is 4 months," Deputy Minister of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Sagadiyev said presenting the bill.

According to Vice Minister, the Republic of Kazakhstan deposited funds in the amount of US\\$ 500 thousand within the Agreement, while the UN will provide for following events. The first one is conducting the forum, the second – preparing publications on the forum, the third – finding experts in the field of "electronic government", the fourth - hiring of a project coordinator, who will provide interaction between the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Provision with privileges and immunities, including granting of the right of free entry and exit of participants - representatives of the UN are to be provided in the framework of the forum.

The agreement was signed on August 4, 2014.

The Global e-Government Forum will be held on October 6-8 in Astana.
