OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2014. Moldova will receive 35 million euros from the European Union within the Eastern Partnership Integration and Cooperation (EaPIC) programme. European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule made statements to this effect.

According to a press release by the Eastern Partnership Forum of Civil Society Organisations, this money is intended to "enhance the economic opportunities in rural areas, to advance reforms in the energy sector, improve the job market and implement vocational education."

"This funding represents further support for the national reforms and projects that bring tangible benefits in people's lives," said Fule.

Launched in 2012, the programme provides for additional funding to EaPIC Eastern Partnership countries that have made progress in democracy and human rights reforms. Additional funds for Georgia (27 million euros) and Armenia (25 million euros) were also announced today.
