OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, today announced that the Company's Jojobera 'Fusion' Quality Circle (QC) team has been honoured with the prestigious Gold Award at Chapter Convention on Quality Circle 2014 by Quality Circle Forum India, Durgapur (QCFI). The case study presented by the Company at the convention has helped in reducing the water used in ash plant area.

Tata Power's 'Fusion' QC team has now been qualified for the National Convention Quality Circle to be held at Pune in December 2014. A total of 63 teams from different organisations participated in the convention. With this award, Tata Power's 'Fusion' QC team was represented by Mr. P Jha, Mr. Asish Roy, Mr. Raju Srivastava, Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Mr. Dharm Singh, Mr. N K Yadav and Mr. S K Kunwar.

Commenting on the efforts of the quality teams Mr. Vijay V Namjoshi, Chief-Jojobera Station, said "Tata Power constantly endeavours to enhance its efficiency and establish quality benchmarks to ensure constant improvement and innovation across its operations. We sincerely appreciate the outstanding efforts put in by the QC team. Quality is the key thrust area and we will continue to create an environment of active involvement and participation of our employees towards quality improvement thereby establishing industry benchmarks."

QCFI is one of the leading non-profit National Organisations promoting Quality Movement in India, since its inception in 1982. The membership is spread over to Manufacturing and Service Industry, Government Organisations, Academia, Banks and Hospitals etc. All levels of management from top to junior are involved who initiate, guide and nurture Quality Circles (QCs) as an important part of Total Quality Control (TQC).
