OREANDA-NEWS. Chery Jaguar Land Rover's new factory in Changshu, Jiangsu is on the verge of beginning operation in October, the Securities Daily reported today. At that time production of its first domestically manufactured vehicle, the Range Rover Evoque, will begin at that time.

Ever since its establishment in November 2012, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has been building its factory to the highest of international standards. The joint venture's factory possesses state-of-the-art press, bodywork, painting, general assembly and engine production facilities; they re augmented by advanced hardware, leading lean and flexible manufacturing capabilities and a global point-to-point logistics system. The factory will be one of the most advanced sites in the world. Furthermore, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has established an advanced quality and testing management control center to ensure proper quality control of its products.

JV Deputy President Zhu Guohua confidently summed up his expectations for the plant: "2014 marks a very crucial year for Chery Jaguar Land Rover. We believe that we can reach each of our goals for the China market. The opening of Chery Jaguar Land Rover's factory and its first vehicle will market very important milestone events for the Chinese premium automotive market."
