OREANDA-NEWS. Miami International Airport will welcome increased service by Mexican flag carrier Aeromexico this fall when the airline adds frequencies to its Mexico City and Merida routes. Beginning November 1, Aeromexico will add a fourth daily flight to its Miami-Mexico City service, which will continue to be operated using Boeing 737-700 and -800 aircraft. On November 8, the airline will also add a fourth weekly Miami-Merida flight using Embraer 190 aircraft.

"We're proud to welcome additional service by Aeromexico to our third-busiest international market," said Miami-Dade Aviation Department Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. "Passenger traffic between Miami and Mexico has grown over the years to 1,250,000 in 2013, and we look forward to serving even more travelers on these routes with Aeromexico's increased frequencies."

In addition to Merida and the nation's capital, passenger service to Cancun and Cozumel is also available at MIA, for a total of four destinations in Mexico. MIA continues to serve as the Gateway of the Americas, with more flights to Latin America and the Caribbean than any other U.S. airport.
