OREANDA-NEWS. On October 9, 2014, a Ukrainian delegation led by Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriia Gontareva started its official visit to the United States of America.

The delegation comprises Oleksandr Shlapak, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pysaruk, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Motsyk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America.

As part of the visit to the United States, the delegation members will take part in the 2014 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank Group to be held in Washington. The agenda of the visit to Washington also includes meetings with high-ranking officials of the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Department of Justice, senior officials of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, and the International Finance Corporation.

The meetings will focus on the prospects for monetary and foreign exchange policy reforms undertaken in Ukraine, and the possibility of providing a financial assistance package to our country under the Stand-By Arrangement. The status of and prospects for trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the United States of America, and the creation of new joint investment projects will also be high on the agenda.

In addition, the Head of the Ukrainian delegation to Washington is to hold talks with the governors of the central banks of Poland, Russia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Austria and France.

Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriia Gontareva and First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleksandr Pysaruk are to meet representatives of Ukrainian diaspora in the United States, leading American corporations and business associations, as well as other persons interested in investing in the Ukrainian economy.
